Woman’s Club of Tewksbury Township brings Valentine’s Day cake and gifts to residential care facilities | Hunterdon Review News

TEWKSBURY TWP. – The Township of Tewksbury Women’s Club (WCTT) delivered a Valentine’s Day cake and gift bags on Thursday, Feb. 10, to residents of the Hunterdon Hills residential care facility in Lebanon Township.

“Continuing to adapt to Covid restrictions and privacy, the club’s Valentine’s Day parties this year included gift bags and cake, but without the parties,” said Heather Ross, President of the WCTT social and senior services.

“We were concerned about the continued presence of the Omicron variant and did not want to be responsible for inadvertently infecting anyone.”

Instead of hosting in-person entertainment and a party with WCTT hostesses, Ross and Amy Levin dropped off the Valentine’s Day cake and goody bags in Hunterdon Hills.

“We were aided in this effort by resident Julie Thompson,” Ross said.

“Last year we provided tiny gift bags, but no party cake. In the past, everything was more festive.

Ross said they then drove to a new organization the club supports, The Center for Great Expectations, in Somerset, which treats and educates young mothers to recover from addiction.

“They have two levels of care, so we brought two cakes and two sets of Valentine’s Day gifts for any private parties they would be hosting,” Ross said.

“Pat Sommero helped us in the middle. We know that we have made many residents happy during their celebrations.
