Top 10 Valentine’s Day Movies to Watch on Netflix

Love is in the air and also on netflix. If you have a Valentine’s Day or are happily spending it alone, these movies will make all of your plans a whole lot more fun and romantic! Suggestions will come from Netflix, so all you have to worry about is making popcorn. Below is a list of the top 10 love and romance movies to watch on Netflix.

1) Crazy and stupid love

There will never be a time when I will not list Crazy Stupid Love as one of the best comedy movies. A movie that stars Emma Stone, Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling and Julianne Moore is bound to be awesome. The story will make you laugh and swoon. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling have great chemistry. That said, the film is so sweet that it can be watched with family, friends, and your partners, and it has Ryan Gosling. It’s a movie everyone should see at least once. A perfect watch for a fun Valentine’s night.

2) Call me by your name

There’s romance and then there’s Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name. Starring Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer, the film won several awards. Originally written by André Aciman, the film is a sensual and subtle love story between a young Italian boy and an American research assistant. A story of first love and loss but also of growth. The film will show you the power and beauty of love. Beautiful scenes set in the dreamy town of Crema, this film is art for all the senses.

3) Win it all

Are you a fan of New Girl? Do you also like Jake Johnson? This movie has Jake Johnson playing a Nick-like man. If Nick hadn’t met Schmidt, yes. Surprisingly good and blushing with romance. Who doesn’t guiltily watch “I-Can-Fix-Him-Movies?” Joe (Johnson) is a gambling addict who lives off the thrill of ups and downs. Living broke and doing the bare minimum, Joe meets a young nurse. She makes him go on morning dates and forces him to see life responsibly. The good thing about the movie is that it’s not too much on the nose of a good girl staring at an irresponsible boy. It’s cute and entertaining and light enough to set the mood for the rest of the evening.

4) Pride and prejudice

I would give Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth a chance to fight Rose and Jack. Mr. Darcy also reportedly gave up the wooden plank for Elizabeth who instead hit him on the head for being stupid enough not to share it with her. Jack would never reach out, trying to absorb every bit of Elizabeth just because he helped her into the car. If you and your partner are fans of love frenemies, then looking the best should be your task. Plus, if you’re like me, you already have plans for an Austen Marathon.

5) Love and other drugs

I forgave Jake Gyllenhaal. Judge me all you want, but there was something messed up about their whole relationship from the start itself. Jake made some great movies and I won’t be ashamed to watch them. Love & Other Drugs, features Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathway who have such great chemistry together. The story is about so many things like loss, life and the slow growth of love. The changing dynamics of relationships.

6) Configure it

When setting up their bosses, two assistants try to make their own work much easier. Still, there seems to be something completely new brewing in the dynamic between the two offices. A romantic comedy starring Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell, is entertaining to say the least. With a heart in the right place, they give a well-delivered office love story, that is, a little office and a lot of love. The story is so pleasantly paced that throughout the film, you can’t help but smile. It’s corny but not in an embarrassing way.

7) The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

An adaptation of a book of the same name written by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. The film stars Michiel Huisman and Lily James, set at the end of World War II. Lily James stars as Juliet Ashton who is a writer while Huisman is a small-scale farmer and a member of the Guernsey Potato Peel Pie Society. Ashton is interested in this particular community and when she visits the place, many other things are discovered as well. Historical romance with a touch of mystery, it’s not just a romance but it’s as beautiful as one.

8) Handsome Devil

The beauty of this film is much more than Andrew Scott. He gives a great performance but it’s the setting of this movie that beats it all. A small, remote boarding school that has lush fields as well as a sort of almost dead poets’ society vibe. The film is about two young students who couldn’t have been more different. They are roommates but due to the uptight nature of the teachers regarding homosexuality, all they agree to is being friends. With elements of rugby and music, the film is a must see.

9) Hook up for love

We love a romance tale that beats the luck of time. This Korean romantic drama is the story of such love. Mi Soo and Hyun Woo meet at a bakery in the 1990s and fall in love while swapping stories on a radio station, but their paths keep crossing and time never seems to work together. Starring Kim Go-Eun and Jung Hae-in, the film is ideal if you or your partner love Korean movies.

10) Silver Linings Playbook

David O. Russell’s Philly masterpiece is a remarkable combination of huge laughs, searing reality and a riveting love story about two hot messes who fall for each other as they heal from tremendous trauma. Silver Linings Playbook makes a bold conceptual balancing act and never falters, much to the surprise and delight of all who watch it.
