The r/movies Reddit page has over 26.8 million users and has been around since January 25, 2008. With the Golden Globes already on January 9, moviegoers are gearing up for the Oscars on March 27 and flooding the page with discussions of the best movies of the past year and which of those movies will win big.

With a wide selection to choose from, Reddit users have found themselves with some of the same favorite releases. Many movies that users agreed were the best releases of 2021 even made it onto former President Barack Obama’s list of his top movies of the same year.

Dunes is highly regarded for its soundtrack composed, directed and produced by the legendary Hans Zimmer. Fans were also blown away by the visuals and how faithful they were to the book. The film won the Golden Globe for Best Original Score at their 79th annual awards ceremony.
