Another Spanish romantic comedy film “Sounds Like Love” is directed by Juana Macias. It is based on the 2018 novel by Elisabet Benavent.
Despite a dead end job and frequenting men with whom she never manages to form emotional ties, the life of Maca, a thirty-year-old living in Madrid, was going rather well with the support of her friends Jimena and Adriana. But when her ex Leo who once tore her heart apart and whom Maca considers life’s biggest mistake comes back into her life, she must deal with all the pent up emotions in her heart.
The film premiered on September 29, 2021 on Netflix beginning with Maria Valvedre as Maca.
The Non-Wedding Planner (2020) –
The third Spanish rom-com drama on the list is directed by Dabi de la Orden and revolves around Marina, a successful wedding planner who doesn’t believe in love since her father cheated on her mother.
Marina had a one-night stand with a man named Carlos. But when another time she is working as a wedding planner for her friend Alexia, she discovers that the man Alexia is marrying is Carlos.
This film premiered in 2020 on Valentine’s Day (February 14) and starred Belen Cuesta, Alex Garcia, and Silvia Alonso as Marina, Carlos, and Alexia respectively.
The Cover (2021)-
Another Spanish romantic comedy musical film directed by Secun de la Rosa and set in Benidorm. “The Cover” features artists who make a living singing covers of big-name singers like Lady Gaga, The Killers, Shirley Bassey, and more.
Dani is a server with a pent-up yearning for music. He meets Sandra, a singer who works in hotels and who has imitated Adele. Will the two get along? Alex Monner and Marina Salas star as Dani and Sandra, respectively.
I Want You (1998) –
This English detective film brings together in the scene a number of characters named Helen, Bob, Honda, Smokey and Martin. Honda is a quiet kid whose secretary records people’s personal conversations and Smokey who sings at the bar is his sister. Helen is a young woman who runs a hair salon and Bob is her boyfriend.
Honda becomes attested to Helen and begins recording her conversation with Bob, which leads to the rekindling of Helen’s relationship with Martin, a new guy in town who first observed Helen from a distance.

The last film on our list is also a Spanish film which focuses on Marcos. Marcos is a young man who has faced a disastrous breakup with his girlfriend Ana for eight years. He also loses his job the day after this breakup.
Now disheveled, while he wants to reinvent himself, he gets help from his childhood friend who is also an Argentinian YouYube guru. Directed by Laura Mana, this film was released on January 24, 2020. It stars Quim Gutierrez as Marcos.
