Makeup and hairstyle tips and tricks to try for Valentine’s Day party with bae

When it comes to makeup, there’s no one better than a beauty guru to share tips on how to get the best look. For the most perfect and glamorous looks, we spoke to Shahnaz Husain who shared easy and doable makeup tips for those celebrating the day of love with their significant other.

Want to leave your bae speechless with your glam looks? To take notes!

Daytime makeup should be light, subtle and neat because daylight is harsh and reveals makeup flaws. A “lifting” face mask can leave your skin looking clean and glowing. Mix the honey with the egg white and apply it on the face. Wash off with water after 20 minutes.

If you have fair skin, omit foundation. After cleansing, apply sunscreen with built-in moisturizer. Then apply the compact powder. Press the powder all over the face and neck, with a slightly damp sponge. This helps it to set and last longer. Avoid using too much powder around the eyes.

If you want to apply foundation, a water-based foundation is best, especially for oily skin. Add a drop or two of water for lighter coverage. The foundation should be as close to your skin color as possible. Choose a pink blush and be subtle. Powder blushes are easier to apply. The goal should be to give the complexion a healthy glow. Don’t forget to add a glow above the cheekbones with a highlighter.

To add romance and sparkle to daytime makeup, apply a light-colored shadow like mauve or light brown all over the upper eyelid. Then use a dull gold or silver eye shadow on the upper lid closer to the lashes and also to highlight below the brows. For eye makeup, stick to eye pencils during the day. Or you can line your lids with brown or gray eye shadow. This gives a softer effect. Next, apply mascara, which helps make the eyes look darker and brighter, but prevents the “heavily made up” look. Mascara should be applied in two light coats. Apply one coat. Let dry. Comb the eyelashes with an eyelash comb. Then apply the second layer and repeat the procedure.

If you want to emphasize the eyes, use an eye pencil or eyeliner, near the eyelashes. For night, try the smoky eye look. Apply the liner very close to the lashes, then blend them with a sponge-tip applicator.
Use a colored lip gloss, such as pale pink or mauve. I think subtlety is much more appealing. Avoid using lip liners and simply brush lips with lipstick, opting for shades of pink, from pale pink to rose or tawny pink. Apply shine to the center of the lips to add an attractive pout.

For oily hair, boil the used tea leaves again in enough water. After boiling, you should have about 5-6 cups of tea water. Cool and filter the liquid. Add the juice of a lemon and use it as a final rinse.

To soften dry hair, mix water with a creamy hair conditioner and put it in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on the hair. Then comb the hair so that it spreads through the hair.

If you suddenly find that your hair has too much static – or a “flying away” hair problem. All you have to do is wet your hands with water and smooth your palms over the hair. And, avoid too much brushing.

To add body to the hair, comb all the hair to one side, blow dry the hair, then comb the other side and repeat blow drying. Or bend over and blow dry hair upside down, brushing from back to front. It is especially convenient if the hair is short.

The classic ponytail sets the trends. Wear it up or down, with or without bangs. Falling locks or curls can add a romantic touch. Just like ribbons or hair accessories. For a long face, wear a low ponytail and long, light bangs that fall straight down. For an oval face, wear it with side bangs. A square-jawed face, with strands of long curls falling on either side of the face, just past jaw level. It will also suit a round face.
