This leads to a series of inevitable double dates where the exes begin to wonder if their feelings are really a thing of the past.

Pearl is the most wanted lawyer in the country, at the cost of her love life. When her boyfriend dumps her just as the Christmas family reunion is fast approaching, Pearl’s increasingly impatient mother drags her to church for divine intervention. She receives a life-changing prophecy about the person she will be happy with forever: a man whose last name is Dlamini.
Love, lies and hybrids
Jessica and her lover, Sophia, are looking forward to a mountain getaway for a few days before New Year’s Day, while Jessica’s environmental activist fiancé, Daniel, is away at a conference. So when Daniel arrives to surprise Jessica, he’s the one who gets the surprise.
The romantic comedy Welcome to the Family centers on Palesa, who hardly says “yes” to her boyfriend’s marriage proposal than she finds herself dragged into her family home in KZN, where she discovers she is on about to marry an over-the-top, wealthy family led by two overbearing, controlling, and hard-to-please monster in-laws.
