As January draws to a close, students stumble across the Buena Vista University campus, the J semester draws to a close, and the spring semester begins as February approaches. With February comes the one and only feast; Valentine’s Day, AKA V-Day.
As children, Valentine’s Day meant giving mini valentines to your friends with the addition of candy, a classroom party, and red heart decor. Now, as adults in college, Valentine’s Day takes on a whole new meaning or even no meaning at all. For many, celebrating this holiday means bringing the flowers, vsurrounding cards, soft toys, chocolate and the whole cliché numerous expectations. As well as the big date of V-Day!
“A date for Valentine’s Day can be something as simple as sstay at home [in your dorm or suite] in pajamas eating fatty food like pizza, ice cream and hugD while watching a movie. Or even go go out to eat at Regattas and stroll by the lake, “Katie Gruhn declared.
“Go see a movie or do something fun and go to dinner afterwards [is the perfect date],“ way Jelly suggested.
Going out to dinner is a great idea for a date on V-Day. Restaurants such as The Juanitas, Regattas or even To smokeHereford BBQs are all great local places to go. The standard movie date is also easy to view. Movies such as Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of a Harley Quinn, Dolittle, and Just mercy are all screened at the Vista 3 theater here in town.
“Cross the lake to discover the island [would be a good date idea], ” Jelly added.
If you and your partner are feeling a little more adventurous while bowling in Alta, go roller skating here in town, walk up and down the main street in the city center and go shopping, through the local bakery, skate on the lake with skates you rented from the Rec House, or even, “Wreak havoc at Walmart,” as Tillie Heithoff suggested are also all decent local date ideas.
However V-DaIt’s not just for your significant other, celebrating with your friends is just as fun if not better!
“Valentine’s Day can be a happy time, but no one should worry about whether or not to feeling obligated to be in a relationship. Just have fun if you have one my half Where only your friends!, ” Gruhn Express.
A final local date suggestion would be to attend the Coffee and Canvas that the Witter Gallery is organizing this Saturday February 15th.e. From 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. you can enjoy the painting and have a coffee with the person (s) you want to spend your time with. For only $ 10 per person and registration before February 12e, it covers all materials for your hour and a half of fun. Whether you’re single, in a relationship, or whatever’s just complicated there is plenty to do for Valentine’s Day here at Strom Lake. Swaiting time with whoever you want on V–A day while enjoying the local amenities is a great way to keep busy this Friday and the weekend after. Now that you have dating ideas, the only thing you need to worry about is asking that special beaver if they “drink“ be your valentine.
