Animal Crossing’s Valentine’s Day sees villagers shower you with gifts

It’s the season of love in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Fresh out of the Lunar New Year festivities and just before the famous Festivale, Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrates Valentine’s Day. Although the game doesn’t do a huge song and dance on the event (Isabelle didn’t even tell me it was Valentine’s Day during his morning briefing), there are a few things players should make sure to do today.

For players looking to collect as many different items and furniture as possible, Valentine’s Day has a few exclusive items to purchase for their collections. Players can pick up the Chocolate Hearts and Heart Shaped Bouquet seasonal items in-game. They’ve been available this month and are leaving the store today, so if you haven’t picked them up yet, time is running out. .

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Gifts for Valentine’s Day

One of the biggest surprises of the day for me was how full my mailbox was. When I loaded the game up on Sunday morning, I was expecting the usual Happy Home Academy grade and maybe a letter or two. I didn’t expect to be inundated with gifts from all my favorite villagers.

In total, I received seven letters from the villagers and one from Isabelle, each with a nice note and a gift. These seem to be the villagers I’ve spent the most time building friendship levels with. Unfortunately there was nothing special about the items, just a bunch of chocolate hearts and heart shaped bouquets, but it’s the idea that counts!

What’s next in New Horizons?

Tomorrow sees the start of the Festivale! Pavé, the party peacock, arrives on Player Island with the sole purpose of spreading the joy. Players can purchase a selection of Festivale reactions and items from the Nook’s store and collect feathers in exchange for dance moves with Pavé. Following this, a bunch of Super Mario themed items will hit Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March.
